Nutritionist Ruksana Tonu has been with us since 2023, providing online nutrition consultancy.

She completed her honours and masters in Food & Nutrition Science at Bangladesh Home Economics College, affiliated with the University of Dhaka.

After her studies she completed a six-month clinical internship at Ibn Sina Medical College and Hospital through Nutrilearnbd, under the supervision of dietitian Sirajam Munira. During this period she gained practical experience in nutritional management for patients across the hospital’s departments.

She then completed a six-month Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) course at Cognize Nutrition in India. She has also completed the online course “The Science & Practice of Intermittent Fasting” in order to understand the popular intermittent fasting method scientifically.

Recognising that regular physical activity matters alongside a balanced diet if patients are to reach and hold good health over the long term, she completed Nutrition & Fitness Training. Through it she gained knowledge of physical activity suited to different health conditions, alongside diet.

Nutrition science is a changing and continually developing field. To sharpen her skills and stay current with the latest scientific evidence and evidence-based methods, she takes part regularly in science-based courses, training and educational programmes.

Her aim is to provide simple, realistic and science-based nutrition advice that takes each person’s health, medical history, lifestyle, food habits and practical circumstances into account.
